The Egyptian Arbitration Law No. 27 of 1994 concerning Arbitration in Civil and Commercial Matters is based on the UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration (1985), with some amendments; therefore, Egypt is considered to be a UNCITRAL Model Law State. This law applies to all arbitrations conducted inside Egypt and to international commercial arbitrations conducted abroad if the parties agree to submit them to the provisions of this Arbitration Law.
Egypt acceded to the New York Convention in 1959
Entry into force for 7 June 1959.
